HOCKEY
The No. 19-ranked Michigan Tech hockey team opens its 2026-27 season at the John MacInnes Student Ice Arena, hosting No. 14 Minnesota on Friday at 7:07 p.m. and Saturday at 6:07 p.m. It's the first visit to Houghton by the Gophers since Oct. 2012. There is a Blue Line Lunch on Friday with an RSVP deadline of Wednesday.
 
FOOTBALL
The No. 24-ranked football team travels to Illinois to take on undefeated Roosevelt in the GLIAC opener for both teams. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. Eastern at Morris Field in Arlington Heights.
 
VOLLEYBALL
Tech splits its week on the road, falling in five at Northern Michigan on Tuesday and sweeping Wayne State in Detroit on Friday. Rachel Zurek led the offense with 5.25 kills per set, Madelynn Kreider set the attack with 11.25 assists per set, and Kayla Heinonen led the defense with 3.38 digs per set. Tech is 7-7 overall and 3-3 in the GLIAC and returns home to host Lake Superior State on Friday at 4 p.m. and Purdue Northwest on Saturday at noon at the SDC Gym.
 
SOCCER
The Huskies fell 3-0 at Saginaw Valley State on Friday and 2-0 at Ferris State on Sunday.  Tech returns home this weekend for a single game, hosting Northern Michigan on Sunday at noon at Kearly Stadium.
