FOOTBALL
The No. 25-ranked football team defeated Upper Iowa 33-32 in overtime on Homecoming Saturday at Kearly Stadium. The Huskies blocked an extra point in the extra session, and Avery Kucharski kicked in the walkoff winner after Alex Bueno scored from one-yard out on fourth down. Elliott Larner scored two rushing touchdowns, Darius Jones, Jr. scored on an interception return, and Avery Kucharski hit field goals from 41 and one from 50 to tie the game with 50 seconds left. Tech has a bye next week before traveling to Roosevelt on Oct. 3 to begin GLIAC play.
 
CROSS COUNTRY
The cross country teams opened the 2026 season at the Oshkosh Titan Fall Classic with both teams earning the team win over UW-Oshkosh, Ripon, Lawrence, and UW-Stout. Sophia Rhein won the women's 6K with a time of 21:27.3—15 seconds in front of the second-place finisher. Abagail Baumann also had a podium finish in third. Colman Lenci won the men's 8K in 25:16.3. He edged teammate Zeb Swager by 2.3 seconds. Brady Ketzenberger finished off the podium sweep for the Black and Gold. Tech returns to action on Oct. 16 at the Bradley Pink Classic, hosted by Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois.
 
VOLLEYBALL
Tech splits its weekend at the SDC Gym, falling in three to No. 1 Ferris State on Friday and bouncing back with a sweep of Davenport. Rachel Zurek led the offense with 3.17 kills per set, Madelynn Kreider set the attack with 10 assists per set, and Keeley Nellis led the defense with 4.67 digs per set. Tech is 6-6 overall and 2-2 in the GLIAC and heads on the road this week for a match at Northern Michigan on Tuesday at 6 p.m. and Wayne State on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
 
SOCCER
The Huskies fell 2-0 at Parkside on Friday and tied Roosevelt 1-1 on Sunday. Tech remains on the road this week with games at Saginaw Valley State on Friday at 1 p.m. and at Ferris State on Sunday at 1 p.m.
