HOUGHTON, Mich. – The Michigan Tech soccer team wraps a four-game road trip this weekend, traveling to Ferris State on Friday and No. 5 Grand Valley State Sunday. Both games are slated for a 1:00 p.m. start.
The Series
Grand Valley State won the first meeting of the season with a 4-0 decision in Houghton for an overall series standing of 23-0-4. Ferris State escaped Kearly Stadium with a 2-1 win in their first match of the season for a 15-8 all-time series edge.

About the Bulldogs
Ferris State holds a 4-4-5 overall ledger while playing to a 4-3-2 record in the GLIAC. The Bulldogs are coming off a 1-0 decision at Parkside and are 2-2-1 over their last five games. FSU sits fourth in the GLIAC standings.
The Bulldogs have a balanced attack, with five players scoring two goals this season. Senior Grace Sampson and junior Katherine Welch lead the team with six points, each having recorded a game-winning goal and two assists.
Sophomore goalkeeper Korinne Ihrke has started all 13 games for FSU, recording four shutouts with a save percentage of .815, amassing 53 saves.
Ferris State ranks second in the GLIAC with 5.38 corner kicks and produces 12 shots and 5.62 shots per game.
About the Lakers
The No. 5 nationally-ranked Grand Valley State sits atop the GLIAC with a 7-1 in league standing while playing to a 10-2 overall record. The Lakers most recently split a weekend on the road, falling 1-0 at Parkside on Friday before a 2-0 victory at Roosevelt on Sunday.
GVSU ranks first in corner kicks (5.92), goals-against average (.500). Shots per game (18.67), shots on goal (8.00) and shutout percentage (.583). The team ranks second in the GLIAC in scoring offense with 1.92 goals per game.
Sophomore forward Sarah Fromm and junior Alli French average over 1.40 shots on goal per game as Fromm paces the team with six goals, as French has four scores, with senior Kacy Lauer and junior Sonya Mehta having recorded three goals apiece.
Senior Sophia Morgan and freshman Ivy Wilhelm are the top facilitators for the Lakers with a team-leading four assists on the year.
First-year goalkeeper Macie Hunter has played in nine games for GVSU with a goals-against average of .24 with an .846 save percentage, facing 33 shots for 11 saves and a record of 8-1.
About the Huskies
Michigan Tech is looking to turn the corner on a winless weekend, dropping road matches at Davenport (2-0) Friday and Saginaw Valley State (6-0) on Sunday.
With five games to go in the regular season, the Huskies hold a 2-10-1 overall standing while playing to a 2-6-1 GLIAC ledger to reside eighth in the league.
Michigan Tech ranks first in the GLIAC with 7.08 saves per game, with veteran goalkeeper Bri Barrows producing 5.17 saves per outing to rank second in the GLIAC while recording 62 total saves this season.
