Husky men's tennis comes up short against Pride

PARK FOREST, Ill. - Ambarish Rao picked up a straight sets win at No. 5 singles but the Huskies fell short at Purdue Northwest 6-1 Saturday afternoon at Park Forest Tennis Club. The Pride took the team doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2. Purdue Northwest won in straight sets at all three top singles positions to clinch the match. Siddhesh Mahadeshwar sent the second set at No. 4 to a tiebreaker, but he fell 6-3, 7-6(3). Rao then defeated Paul Hawes 6-3, 6-4. 

"It has been a difficult road trip but we have seen improvement on this team and I look forward to playing on our home court next week," said head coach Kristin Yep.

Playing a player short Saturday, the Huskies fell to 0-7 on the season. MTU will play at home for the first time Saturday, March 27 at Gates Tennis Center.
