HOUGHTON, Mich. – The GLIAC announced its all-conference tennis teams on Thursday, and Michigan Tech had five student-athletes honored.
Alexandra Nikonenko was named All-GLIAC Second Team Singles,
Bella Bigari and
Emily Rose are All-GLIAC Second Team Doubles, and
Emily Cojocaru and
Laurent Teysseire were named All-GLIAC Honorable Mention.
Alexandra Nikonenko went 3-4 in GLIAC singles at Tech's No. 1 player. She earned wins against Saginaw Valley State, Roosevelt, and Davenport. Nikonenko went 9-8 overall on the season in singles and 10-7 in doubles, including a 3-4 conference record.
Bella Bigari and
Emily Rose went 3-4 in GLIAC doubles as Tech's No. 1 duo. They had wins over Saginaw Valley State, Roosevelt, and Ferris State. The pair went 8-7 overall for the season. Bigari was 9-8 overall during the regular season at No. 2 singles and Rose was 10-7 overall in No. 4 and 5 singles.
Emily Cojocaru was named All-GLIAC for the second time in her career. She went 5-2 in GLIAC play at No. 3 singles and held an overall 12-4 record, winning seven straight during the season. Cojocaru also held a 4-3 doubles GLIAC record with
Caoimhe McDonnell at the No. 2 spot. She was 12-4 overall in doubles.
Laurent Teysseire was Tech's No. 1 singles and doubles player. He earned a win over Davenport at singles and wins over Roosevelt and Davenport at doubles alongside
Landon Coates. Teysseire held a 6-10 overall singles record and 9-7 doubles mark.
