HOUGHTON, Mich. – Michigan Tech tennis student-athletes
Bella Bigari,
Emily Cojocaru,
Alexandra Nikonenko, and
Laurent Teysseire have been named to the 2026 Academic All-District® Tennis teams, selected by College Sports Communicators. The organization recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
Bella Bigari majors in Human Biology and has a 3.59 grade-point average after a 4.0 spring semester. The native of Green Bay, Wis., was All-GLIAC Second Team in doubles. She teamed up with
Emily Rose for an 8-7 doubles record and was 9-8 at No. 2 singles.
Emily Cojocaru is a junior from Richmond Hill, Ontario. She is majoring in Cybersecurity and holds a 3.63 GPA and had a 4.0 spring semester. She went 12-4 in singles as the No. 3 player and won seven straight in the middle of the season. She also held a 12-4 doubles record in the No. 2 position and earned All-GLIAC honors for the second time in her career after being named Honorable Mention.
Alexandra Nikonenko, a sophomore from Swansea, Wales, holds a 3.79 GPA in Economics. She was Tech's No. 1 singles player and went 9-8 and also held a 10-7 doubles record. Nikonenko was named All-GLIAC Second Team.
Laurent Teysseire is a sophomore from Lalden, Switzerland. He holds a 4.0 GPA in Civil Engineering and was named All-GLIAC Honorable Mention. As Tech's No. 1 singles and doubles player, Teysseire went 6-10 in singles and 9-7 in doubles.
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2025-26 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs.
