Michigan Tech Swept by Northwood 9-0

MIDLAND, Mich. — Michigan Tech was defeated 9-0 by perennial GLIAC power Northwood in men's tennis today at Midland Tennis Center.

Tech started well in doubles, but the host Timberwolves came back and claimed all three flights by 8-3 scores.

In singles, Northwood won all six flights in straight sets. No. 2 player Robin Duhnsen had the closest of the six matches. He fought hard before yeilding a 6-2, 6-4 decision.

"We started pretty well in doubles and had leads at both No. 1 and 2 doubles," said Tech coach Kevin Kalinec. "At the point we needed to be more aggressive, we didn't and Northwood did. They siezed the momentum, and once a team like that gets rolling, it's tough to stop."

Michigan Tech (2-12, 1-7 GLIAC) will wrap up its 2015 season tomorrow with a 10 a.m. match at Wayne State.
