HOUGHTON, Mich. - Lewis spoiled the Michigan Tech men's tennis
team's 2012 home opener today by sweeping the Huskies 9-0. Tech
(2-2) had competitive matches at several flights but couldn't break
through against the non-conference opponent Flyers (1-1).
No. 3 doubles tandem of Bryan Bartelt and James Konarske turned in the tightest match of the
doubles flights with an 8-6 loss.
In singles, No. 2 player Luka Stupar won his first set 7-5 before losing the
second 6-1. The third-set super tiebreaker went to Lewis' Armand
Levandi 10-4.
All five other flights were decided in straight sets.
Michigan Tech will have a quick turnaround before opening
conference play at home against Northwood tomorrow at 10 a.m.
