GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. Grand Valley State swept Michigan
Tech, 9-0, in men's tennis today. The Lakers improved to 12-3
overall and 1-1 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic
Conference with the win, while the Huskies fell to 2-12 overall and
0-3 in the GLIAC.
The closest match of the day came at number one doubles, where
Tech's duo of Brett Girard and Matt Tronnes fell to GVSU's Tony
Dang and Patryk Polus by an 8-6 count. The Huskies' number two
doubles combo of Alan Parenteau and Brandon Ellefson lost, 8-4.
All six singles matches were decided in straight sets. Girard was
defeated by Dang at number one, 6-1, 6-3.
Michigan Tech will wrap up a nine-match road swing tomorrow (March
29) with a 10 a.m. tilt at Ferris State.
