Huskies to Play for Seventh Place Tomorrow
MIDLAND, Mich. -- The Michigan Tech men's tennis team owns a
seventh seed in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference
Tournament and dropped its first two matches today against higher
seeded teams.
The Huskies lost to regional power and second-seeded Ferris State
in the first round by a 5-0 count. The Bulldogs swept all three
doubles matches. Tech's closest finish came at number three doubles
where Justin Foley and Rajiv Nanjundareddy fell, 8-4.
In the second round, Michigan Tech was defeated by sixth-seeded
Wayne State by a 5-0 count. The Huskies' number two doubles team of
Yassine Borkadi and Chris Calder won five games in their pro set
before falling, 8-5.
Michigan Tech (3-15) will take on eighth-seeded Findlay tomorrow at
10 a.m. in the GLIAC Tournament seventh-place game.
