Soccer announces 12 to the 2025 Signing Class

HOUGHTON, Mich. – Michigan Tech soccer head coach Melissa Kuhar announced the addition of 12 student-athletes to the 2025 signing class. The class includes nine from the state of Michigan and three from Wisconsin. 

Bella Berry | Wayland, Mich. | South Christian High School

Coach Kuhar on Berry: Bella is a dynamic attacking player that will help create things on the outside of the field for us. She is going to add more depth to our attacking group by bringing her high energy and ability to stretch defenses. Bella isn't afraid to take people on in the final third and be creative. She comes from a quality Midwest United ECNL-RL team. I can't wait to see Bella's talents translate to this level.

High School: Berry was a part of the 2023 State Cup Champions who placed runner-up in 2022.

Personal: Bella is the daughter of Jill and Thomas Berry. She plans to earn a degree in biology while at Michigan Tech.

Paige Bibley | Goalkeeper | Grand Blanc, Mich. | Grand Blanc High school

Coach Kuhar on Bilbey: Paige comes from a solid club, Liverpool FC ECNL, and will be a great addition to our GK group. She has quality shot stopping ability and is vocal in the net. Paige isn't afraid to put her body on the line to make saves, which is vital as a keeper. She has so much potential, and I am excited to see her grow and develop here at MTU.

High School: Bilbey is a district all-team selection and an All SVL Honorable Mention in 2024. She was a member of the Grand Blanc district champions team and earned All-Academic SVL in 2023 and 2024 while being named captain for the 2024 season. She was a member of the National Honor Society, the Asian Club, Indian American Student Association and rising leaders in Business Club.

Personal: Paige is the daughter of Michael and Stephanie Bilbey. She plans to earn a degree in wildlife ecology and environmental science while at Michigan Tech. 

Melanie Brougham | Outside Mid | Byron Center, Mich. | Byron Center High School

Coach Kuhar on Brougham: When I first saw Melanie play at our ID camp, I knew I wanted her in our program. She is a solid outside back that isn't afraid to go forward into the attack as well as excels at containing opposing forwards. Melanie is calm on the ball and uses her technical ability to keep possession. She plays for a very competitive club team, Midwest United FC, and I am excited to see her excel here at Tech.

High School: Brougham was a member of the Byron Center High School squad that was a 2023 district champion and 2024 conference champion. She was also a member of the Midwest United FC, winning the state championship in 2023 and a state finalist in 2022.

Personal: Melanie is the daughter of Jennifer and Garrett Brougham. She plans to earn a degree in biochemistry while at Michigan Tech. 

MacKenzie Dollison | Center Mid | Petersburg, Mich. | Ida High School

Coach Kuhar on Dollison: Kenzie was a late addition to our class, but I couldn't be more excited to have her join us! She comes from a very successful Michigan Hawks ECNL team and has been named one of the top ECNL players at her age group. She has a high soccer IQ and great vision in the middle of the field. Her technical ability and work rate will pair well with the other midfielders on the team. I can't wait to see what success she can have here.

High School: Dollison is a member of the Michigan Hawks ECNL that won three conference championships and was a top-10 team in the ECNL. She also earned scholar athlete awards and varsity awards for track & field. She is a member of the National Honor Society and earned the William Capaul academic letter.

Personal: MacKenzie is the daughter of Joe and Tina Dollison. She plans to earn a degree in chemical engineering while at Michigan Tech.

Olivia Jones | Holding Mid/Center Back | South Lyon, Mich. | South Lyon East High School

Coach Kuhar on Jones: Olivia was my first commit at Tech, and I couldn't be more excited for what she will bring to our backline. She is a solid defender that is great at containing forwards and helping maintain possession out of the back. She is composed on both sides of the ball. She comes from a quality club, Michigan Hawks, and I can't wait to see her mixed in with our veteran defenders.

High School: Jones was a member of the 2022 MHSAA District Champion South Lyon East High School team. She also plays for Michigan Hawks 07 RL and is a scholar athlete.

Personal: Olivia is the daughter of Gethin and Linda Jones. She plans to earn a degree in general engineering while at Michigan Tech.

Karli Koskinen | Center Mid | Waterford, Mich. | Waterford Mott High School

Coach Kuhar on Koskinen: Karli is a work horse in the middle of the field and is going to help bolster our midfield group. She brings a high work rate and energy that pairs well with her technical ability and vision. She plays for a strong club, Sporting United GA. I can't wait to see how she mixes in with our midfield group and excels within our program.

High School: Koskinen is an All-Conference 1st team, All-District, All-Region and All-State Honorable Mention selection in her junior campaign for Waterford Mott High School. She is also the National Honor Society president and holds a 4.13 GPA.

Personal: Karli is the daughter of Mark and Trudi Koskinen. She plans to earn a degree in exercise science while at Michigan Tech. 

Harper Neldner | Center Back | Wauwatosa, Wis. | Divine Savior Holy Angels High School

Coach Kuhar on Neldner: Harper comes to us from FC Wisconsin ECNL-RL and will help strengthen our backline. She is calm under pressure and great with the ball at her feet. She excels at keeping opposing defenders at bay and will be helpful in our style of building out of the back. I can't wait to see how she mixes in with our defensive group next season.

High School: Neldner was an All-Conference Honorable Mention for the Greater Metro Conference, a Greater Metro Conference Scholar Athlete, a State Semifinalists in 2022, sectional champions in 2024 and regional champions in 2024 for the Divine Savior Holy Angels High School and an ENCL All-Regional League Team selection for FC Wisconsin ECNL RL. She is a member of the National Honors Society, a service team co-curricular leader, campus ministry officer and student ambassador.

Personal: Harper is the daughter of Cheryl and Nick Neldner. She plans to earn a degree in environmental engineering while at Michigan Tech. 

Braydin Noble | Forward | Boyne City, Mich. | Boyne City High School

Coach Kuhar on Noble: Braydin is going to bring fresh energy into our attacking group. Her work rate and attacking mentality paired with her soccer IQ will help us centrally. She plays club soccer for the Petoskey Breakers and has been a vital player at Boyne City High School. I am thrilled to have another Noble sister join our program here at Tech! I can't wait to see what she can add to our attack in the years to come.

High School: Noble was a starter from 2022-2024 for Boyne City High School earning All-District honors three years, All-Region honors in 2023 and 2024 and was an All-State Honorable Mention selection in 2024. She was a team captain in 2023 and 2024 and was an All-State third team selection in 2023. She was also a team captain (2023-24), Team MVP (2023) and Defensive MVP (2022) for the Petoskey Breakers.

Personal: Braydin is the daughter of Rachel and Kyle Noble. She plans to earn a degree in human biology while at Michigan Tech.

Sophie Rater | Right Wing/Forward | Mequon, Wis. | Homestead High School

Coach Kuhar on Rater: Sophie is going to bring a spark to our attacking group. She excels going 1v1 in the final third and isn't afraid to be creative with the ball. She comes from a solid club team at North Shore United GA. Her speed and work rate will be huge for us in the attacking portion of the field. I am excited to see how Sophie can impact our program.

High School: Rater is an honorable mention and second team All-Conference selection, being a team captain as a junior for Homestead High School. She was also a captain for the past three seasons for North Shore United. She is a member of the Leukemia Lymphoma Society, Spanish club, girls exploring math and science and was the vice president of the Junior state of America.

Personal: Sophie is the daughter of Christina and John Rater. She plans to earn a degree in kinesiology while at Michigan Tech. 

Abby Sayers | Forward | Port Huron, Mich. | Port Huron Northern High School

Coach Kuhar on Sayers: Abbey was the final piece we added to this class, and I am thrilled she is joining our program. She is a strong back to goal player that is willing to put her body on the line to keep the ball and to help create things in the final third of the field. Her ability to take players on 1v1 and shoot from anywhere will be key for us. She comes from a quality Nationals 2007 Gray ECNL-RL team that competes at a high level. I am excited to see what Abbey brings to our program for the next four years.

High School: Sayers won a state cup for the Nationals club team and qualified for the ECNL - RL playoffs, scoring 10 goals in the fall club season. She is a member of the National Honors Society, G2 Club and holds a 4.2 GPA with five AP classes.

Personal: Abby is the daughter of Brett and Rebecca Sayers. She plans to earn a degree in medical laboratory sciences while at Michigan Tech. 

Elizabeth Striebel | Holding Mid | Midland, Mich. | Midland High School

Coach Kuhar on Striebel: Lizzy is a quality midfielder that is going to help strengthen the central part of the field for us. She plays club soccer for Nationals and brings a great deal of technical ability to our team. Her vision and soccer IQ in the middle of the field is going to help our program immensely and I can't wait for what she can do here.

High School: Striebel is a two-time district champion with the Midland High School squad in 2023 and 2024. She is a SVL First Team selection in 2024 also earning All-District, All-Region and an All-State Third Team selection in 2024. Striebel is also an All-District, All-Region and All-State Honorable Mention selection in 2023. In the classroom, she was a three-time SVL and MHSAA All-Academic award recipient. 

Personal: Elizabeth is the daughter of Greg and Shannon Striebel. She plans to earn a degree in chemical engineering while at Michigan Tech. 

Peyton Wetzel | Winger/Outside Mid | Cedarburg, Wis. | Cedarburg High School

Coach Kuhar on Wetzel: Peyton is going to add a dynamic look to our attacking group, and I can't wait to get her to campus! Her speed and ability to take players on 1v1 will be a huge boost for our program. Peyton's technical ability paired with her ability to get forward will set her apart. She comes to us from a solid club at North Shore United GA. I look forward to seeing what Peyton can do here at Tech.

High School: Wetzel is a captain for Cedarburg High School helping the team win the conference, earn two second-place finishes and place second in the state for three years. She is a First Team and Second Team All-Conference selection and was also an Honorable Mention All-State honoree. In club soccer she helped the NSU GA U19 team place second in the State Cup.

Personal: Peyton is the daughter of Amy and Aaron Wetzel. She plans to earn a degree in biomedical engineering while at Michigan Tech.
