HOUGHTON, Mich. – Michigan Tech soccer head coach Melissa Kuhar has announced the signing of six student-athletes to the 2026 signing class.
"I am super excited at how this class came together. It is a very well-rounded group that brings a huge amount of talent and depth to all areas within our program," said Coach Kuhar. "Not only are they outstanding student-athletes, but they are also great people who come from amazing families! I can't wait to get them on campus and see the impact they will have on our program on and off the field!"
Polly Ambro | Goalkeeper | Golden, Colorado | Lakewood HS | Civil Engineering
Polly is a four-year varsity player for Lakewood High School and was named an All-State honorable mention selection as the team placed third in Jefferson County and second in 5A. She was also a captain for two years in club soccer. Academically, she has held a 4.0 GPA for three years, a member of the National Junior Honors Society and a member of the Kiva and environmental clubs.
Coach Kuhar on Ambro: "We are excited for Polly to get here in the fall! She is a great addition to our goalkeeper group. Her shot-stopping ability, size, and ability to cover the goal are things we can't wait to witness every day! I can't wait to see how she mixes in with the other goalkeepers! They are going to be a fun group to coach!"

Brooke Armstrong | Defender | Lake Orion, Michigan | Lake Orion HS | Nationals ECNL-RL | Biochemistry
Brooke is an OAA All-League and All-District Team selection for the Lake Orion High School team, who also were OAA White Champions. In club play, She was a team captain, an ECNL RL All-Regional League (Heartland), a Heartland Conference Champion and a SYL National Finalist. Brooke also played basketball and is a member of the leadership club.
Coach Kuhar on Armstrong: "We are super excited to have Brooke join us next year! I truly believe she will have a huge impact on us on the defensive side of the ball. Brooke possesses the soccer IQ, size, and willingness to compete that will help our program continue to grow!"

Natalie Miller | Goalkeeper | Beavercreek, Ohio | Beavercreek HS | Ohio Galaxies FC and Cincinnati United Premier GA | Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering
Natalie is the single-season saves record holder for Beavercreek High School, who finished as a district finalist in 2023 and 2024 before being all-district third team in 2025, where the team finished as district champions. In club play, she was a part of the 2025 GA playoff and the 2024-25 GA Champions Cup. She is a member of the National Honors Society, a two-time VEX Robotics World Qualifier, a TSA Transportation Modeling State Champion and was a member of the TSA, Spanish Club, FCA and Network Club.
Coach Kuhar on Miller: "We can't wait to get Natalie to campus to join our goalkeeper group! Natalie is a presence in the net and understands the game well. She has a great shot stopping ability and is fearless coming off her line. It is going to be fun seeing her mix in with the other goalkeepers and compete!"
Why Michigan Tech: "I chose Michigan Tech because it has a great engineering program and women's soccer program. I also love the area and all the fun winter activities that happen throughout campus."
Maya Pal | Defender | Lenexa, Kansas | Olathe Northwest HS | FC Fusion ECNL-RL | Mechanical Engineering
Maya is a three-time regional champion (2023, 2024, 2025) as part of the Olathe Northwest High School team. She is a two-time All-Sunflower Second Team selection (2024 & 2025). In club play, she was an ENCL All-Regional League selection in 2023 and an ECNL RL Continental Tire Selection game in 2024. She is also a National Merit Commended Scholar.
Coach Kuhar on Pal: "Maya was one of the first recruits to commit in this class and I was beyond thrilled when she did! Her athleticism, paired with her knowledge of the game and technical ability, makes her dangerous on the outside. We are excited to see what she can add to our group both on and off the field!"

Kivrin Platt | Center Midfielder/Forward | Kansas City, Missouri | Liberty North HS | KC Athletics ECNL-RL | Aerospace Engineering
Platt has been a varsity member for Liberty North High School since her sophomore year and has been part of two Missouri Class 8 District Championships in 2024 and 2025. In club soccer, she is a two-time ECNL RL Central Regional participant in 2023 and 2025 and a Nationals Elite 8 participant in 2023. Academically, she has been a four-year member of the society of Women Engineers, serving as president for a year, while being a two-time regional chemathon participant in 2024 and 2025 and is currently tied for the class of valedictorian award.
Coach Kuhar on Platt: "When I watched Kivrin in person for the first time, I knew that I wanted to get her to Tech. She understands the game and isn't afraid to create things in the attacking part of the field. Her technical ability, paired with her fierce and driven attitude while playing, is something I think will be contagious! Can't wait to get her here in the fall!"
Why Michigan Tech: "Michigan Tech did everything it needed to convince me when I first arrived on campus. For one, the amazing academic programs and opportunities with their hands-on learning style were an attention grabber for me from the start, but seeing the chemistry and culture of the players and staff is what really drove home my decision to choose Tech. The opportunity to come into a team with such a bond and sense of perseverance and grit is something I could not pass up."
Amelia "AK" Puryear | Winger | Missoula, Montana | Hellgate HS | Missoula Strikers FC | Sports & Fitness Management
AK played varsity for Hellgate High School all four years and was named Rookie of the Year and helped her team finish second at States while winning city and conference championships. In club soccer, AK is a two-time state champion for the Missoula Strikers FC. Academically, she is a four-time Academic All-State selection and also has two varsity letters in basketball.
Coach Kuhar on Puryear: "We are excited to have AK join our program! Her work rate, technical ability, and passion for the game are going to help add some flair on the outside for us. I can't wait to see what she can bring to our program on and off the field!"
Why Michigan Tech: "I chose Michigan Tech because it has a great major that I want to study. As well as the team itself having a bright future, I want to be in that future. My grandpa also grew up in Michigan and told me about the school and he only had good things to say."
