FOOTBALL
Tech overwhelmed UW-Oshkosh 44-7 on Saturday in the final non-conference game of the season. Brandon Michalak had a pair of touchdown receptions with Jake Rueff, Darius Willis, Asher Gregory, and Ethan Hull also finding the endzone. Dante Basanese led the defense with 13 tackles. The Huskies have a bye and shift their focus to GLIAC play hosting Wayne State on Oct. 5 for Homecoming and the 50-year reunion of the 1974 undefeated team.
SOCCER
The Huskies split their GLIAC and home-opening weekend at Kearly Stadium. The Huskies defeated Davenport 2-1 on Friday and fell 2-1 to No. 1 Grand Valley State on Sunday. Julia Pietila scored all three goals for the Black and Gold. Bri Barrows made four saves in each game. Tech is 3-2 overall and 1-1 in the GLIAC and travels to Purdue Northwest Friday and Roosevelt Sunday.
VOLLEYBALL
Tech split its GLIAC-opening weekend on the road. The Huskies defeated Purdue Northwest 3-1 Friday and fell 3-2 at Parkside on Saturday. Meg Raabe led the offense (3.22 k/s) with Tess Hayes setting the attack (9.11 a/s) and Brynn Erickson (3.22 d/s) anchoring the backrow. Tech is 5-4 overall and 1-1 in the GLIAC and returns home to host No. 9 Ferris State on Friday and Davenport on Saturday at the SDC Gym.
CROSS COUNTRY
Tech's men's cross country team finished second in the men's Maroon race at the 38th annual Roy Griak Invitational. Sam Lange led the men in eighth place. Tucker Ringhand also had a top 15 finish in 12th. Sophia Rhein had the best finish on the day for the Huskies, placing sixth in the women's Maroon race to lead the women's team to a seventh place standing. The Huskies will turn their focus to the final monumental race of the regular season traveling to the Lewis Crossover on Oct. 12.
