HOCKEY
Michigan Tech earned its second straight CCHA series sweep after a 3-2 win at Ferris State on Friday and a 3-1 victory on Saturday. Stiven Sardarian scored in each game, while Chase Pietila, Marcus Pedersen, Logan Morrell, and Jack Works also found the back of the net. Max Vayrynen had 23 saves Friday and Derek Mullahy stopped 36 shots on Saturday. Tech has the weekend off before Minnesota State comes to town on Nov. 22-23.

FOOTBALL
Tech football fell 20-0 to No. 5 Grand Valley State on Saturday in the home finale at Kearly Stadium. Owen Watson piled up 14 tackles for the Huskies. Tech is 6-4 overall and 3-3 in the GLIAC and wraps up the season at Saginaw Valley State on Saturday. Kickoff is at 1 p.m.

CROSS COUNTRY
The men's cross country team earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament after a third-place finish at the NCAA Midwest Regional Championship. Sam Lange and Colman Lenci earned All-Region accolades, placing 12th and 23rd. The women's squad placed 14th. Sophia Rhein led the women with a 33rd place finish while Claire Endres (64th) and Cedar Gordon (70th) were also placed in the top 70. The 2024 NCAA Cross Country Championships are in Sacramento, California, on Nov. 23.

VOLLEYBALL
Tech splits its weekend downstate with a 3-1 victory over Davenport on Friday and a 3-0 loss at No. 1 Ferris State on Saturday. Meg Raabe led the offense (3.57 k/s), Tess Hayes set the attack (11.29 a/s), and Amelia Albers led the defense (2.57 d/s). Tech is 14-11 overall and 8-7 in the GLIAC and wraps up the regular season at Saginaw Valley State on Friday and Lake Superior State on Saturday.

SOCCER
The Huskies wrapped up the regular season with a 2-1 loss at Saginaw Valley State on Thursday and a scoreless tie at No. 19 Grand Valley State Saturday. Emilie Clayton scored the lone goal. Tech is the No. 8 seed in the GLIAC Tournament and plays at No. 1 seed Northern Michigan in the quarterfinal round. First kick is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Tuesday in Marquette.

MEN'S BASKETBALL
Tech came home from its season-opening weekend with a pair of wins. The Huskies defeated Missouri-St. Louis 72-57 on Friday and Maryville 88-84 on Saturday in Wisconsin Dells. Marcus Tomashek led the Black and Gold, averaging 24.5 points in the two games. Pete Calcaterra (22), Dawson Nordgaard (14.5), and Ty Fernholz (10) also averaged double figures. Tech is back on the road this weekend, playing at Winona State on Saturday and Concordia-St. Paul on Sunday.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
The Huskies split its opening weekend down in Wisconsin Dells. The Huskies fell 68-57 in the season opener against Lewis on Friday and bounced back with a 73-59 win over Thomas More on Saturday. Isabella Lenz averaged 19 points on the weekend with Alyssa Wypych (14), and Kendall Standfest (12) also averaging double figures. Tech hosts Bemidji State on Friday at 5 p.m. in the home opener at the SDC Gym. The weekend wraps up against Minnesota Crookston at 3 p.m.
