Tennis Suffers 7-2 Setback at Northwood

MIDLAND, Mich. — Northwood defeated Michigan Tech 7-2 in GLIAC women's tennis today. The Huskies (2-7) garnered one point in doubles and another in singles but didn't have the firepower to hand the Timberwolves (10-0) their first loss of the season.

Tech's top doubles pair of Natalia Lebedeva and Kwang Suthijindawong improved to 8-1 on the season with a 9-8 victory over Darina Berkova and Nastya Puchkina. NU won the other two doubles matches 8-1.

All six singles matches were decided in straight sets. Only the No. 2 flight fell in the Huskies favor. Suthijindawong improved to 8-0 on the year with a 6-2, 6-2 victory.

After six matches on the road over the last two weekends, Michigan Tech will finish its regular season schedule at home. It's next team match will come Oct. 3 vs. Wayne State.
