HOUGHTON, Mich. – The Michigan Tech women's tennis team wrapped up the regular season with a pair of matches at Gates Tennis Center. The Huskies fell 7-0 to Grand Valley State on Friday and 4-3 in a long match against Davenport on Saturday.
Alexandra Nikonenko and
Katerina Khardina won 7-5 at No. 3 doubles Friday in the lone victory against the Lakers.
Emily Cojocaru won her first set at No. 3 singles before falling in three.
Against the Panthers on Saturday, four of the singles matches went to three sets with the Black and Gold taking three of them.
Alexandra Nikonenko won 6-4, 1-6, 6-2 at No. 1,
Emily Cojocaru came back for a win at No. 2, 5-7, 7-5, 6-4, and Ana Ukic too her No. 6 match 6-1, 2-6, 6-4.
Tech finished the regular season 10-7 overall and 3-4 in the GLIAC. The Huskies have the weekend off before the GLIAC Tournament on April 23-25.
