HOUGHTON, Mich. - Freshman MaryBeth
Spoehr finished with five saves to lead Michigan Tech to a 1-0
soccer win over Findlay in the final regular season home game for
the Huskies. The shutout was the fifth this season for Spoehr.
"I was really proud of the play of MaryBeth today," said head coach
Michelle
Jacob. "She made some great saves to keep us in the game
today."
Freshman Lindsey
Van Rooy netted the lone goal for the Huskies after burying a
loose ball in the box following a cross in the 50th minute.
The physical game featured 28 fouls, including 18 by the Oilers.
Freshman Danna
Kasom recorded the first yellow card in Michigan Tech school
history in the 21st minute.
"Today was a really physical game," said Jacob. "I was really proud
of the way our team kept its composure even with all the
fouls."
Both teams recorded 11 shots in the contest and UF held a 3-1
advantage in corner kicks.
Tech will return to action at Ferris State on Friday (Oct. 15).
