ASHLAND, Ohio — Ashland defeated Michigan Tech by a 7-2 score in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's tennis action today on the Ashland University campus. The Huskies fell to 3-4 overall and the same in league play.

Freshman Victoria Zhilkina figured into both Tech team points. She was perfect in a 6-0, 6-0 win over Paola Orozco at No. 1 singles. Zhilkina also teamed with Asel Otunchieva for an 8-4 triumph at No. 2 doubles.

Ashland won all the other matches in straight sets.

Michigan Tech will remain on the road to face Tiffin tomorrow (Oct. 11) at 10 a.m.
