ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. – The Michigan Tech soccer team tied 1-1 at Roosevelt on Sunday afternoon. The Huskies dominated possession and tied the game in the second half.

"It was a tough game today against a physical opponent in the pouring rain," Tech coach
Melissa Kuhar said. "I'm glad we could walk away with a point, even though I would have loved a win. I am still proud of the fight our girls had.

"We came out hot and created so many chances from the first whistle. We just couldn't put the ball in the back of the net. I'm proud of our team putting together a solid 90 minutes despite everything the game threw in our direction. The Roosevelt GK made some really good saves and kept them in the game. We'll head back to the drawing board and continue to work on putting the ball in the back of the net."

Kenna Wisniewski opened scoring 44:00 after first kick with a goal from Karina Estrada.

Tech goal was an own goal by the Lakers.
Sophie Rater tried crossing the ball through the box, and it deflected off a Roosevelt defender and into the net at 60:08.

The Huskies led in shots 33-8, including a 17-5 advantage in shots on goal.
AK Puryear and
Reilly Lovercheck both had three shots on goal.
Ryley Winrich,
Melissa Riley, and
Sophie Rater each had two shots on target. Tech also generated 12 corners to three for the home team.

The Huskies continue a four-game road trip at Saginaw Valley State on Friday and Ferris State on Sunday.
