HOUGHTON, Mich. – After six games on the road to open the season, the No. 12 nationally-ranked Michigan Tech men's basketball team will host Lakeland at the SDC Gymnasium on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. for its home opener.

About the Muskies
Lakeland heads to the Upper Peninsula with a 2-3 overall record, most recently dropping a road contest at St. Norbert's on Monday (96-71).
The Muskies are shooting 39 percent from the field for an average of 79.4 points per game, while allowing 87 points. Lakeland is also producing 13 assists and 10.4 steals per outing.
Asanjai Hunter leads four Muskies averaging double-figure scoring with 23 points on 45.3 percent from the field. Jaxson Dillon adds 14.2, as Peyton Mrotek contributes 11.4 points a game and a team-leading 5.2 rebounds.
Hunter has three games over 20 points, with his season-high of 30 points coming in the loss at Ripon on Nov. 18.
Lakeland was predicted to finish 10th in the NACC preseason poll under the guidance of Sam Shroeder in his ninth year leading the Muskies.

Michigan Tech moved up one place in the NABC top-25 poll this week to the No. 12 spot following two gritty wins over NSIC foes at the 2025 American Family Insurance Classic hosted by Minnesota Duluth over the weekend.
The Huskies elevated to 5-1 with a win over Minnesota Duluth (57-48) Friday, the first victory over the Bulldogs since the 2016-17 season, before outlasting St. Cloud State (63-59) on Saturday.
Veteran forward Dawson Nordgaard had a team-leading and season-high 15 points to go with five rebounds in the win over the Bulldogs as Ty Fernholz and All-American Marcus Tomashek combined for 40 of the Huskies' 63 points in the win over SCSU. Fernholz had a season-high and team-leading 22 points in the game, shooting eight-of-15 from the field and six-for-13 from beyond the arc in 28 minutes.
Freshman guard Jesse Napgezek had the most complete game of his early career as a Husky on Friday with 14 points, shooting 5-for-6 from the field and adding four points from the free-throw line to go with three rebounds and a block.
As a team, the Huskies are averaging 65 points per game while holding the opposition to 63.5 points, ranking 18th in the country with a 3-point percentage defense of 26.2 percent and a field goal percentage defense of 39.7 percent.
Veteran guard Nate Abel ranks 30th nationally with 2.83 steals per game with his 17 total steals ranking him first in the GLIAC and sixth in the country.
One Last Thing
Friday's win over Minnesota Duluth in the Romano Gymnasium marked the 70th career win for head coach Josh Buetter, along with the program's 1,075th all-time.
