KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Michigan Tech junior guard Marcus Tomashek has been named to the 2024-25 Bevo Francis Top-100 Watch List announced Wednesday by Small College Basketball and the National Awards Committee.Â
The Clarence "Bevo" Francis Award is presented annually to the player who has had the finest overall season within Small College Basketball. Considerations will be season statistics and individual achievements, awards, personal character and team achievements. This is an incredibly prestigious award, as this award will only be given to one player within Small College Basketball per season.
Tomashek, hailing from Green Bay, Wisconsin, is the GLIAC's leading scorer with 23 points per game on 46.2 percent from the field while adding a team-leading 3.0 assists per game and 3.5 rebounds.
He has recorded a career-high 40-point game this season, including four 30-point games and three 20-point games in his junior campaign. His 23 points per game ranks 11th in the country while his 299 points this season ranks 32nd nationally.Â
The Michigan Tech men's basketball squad is 10-4 on the season and 5-1 in the GLIAC with Tomashek a key part in the team's success.Â
