HOUGHTON, Mich. – The Michigan Tech men's basketball team will look to continue its winning streak by playing host to Northland on Saturday at 5 p.m. in the SDC Gymnasium to conclude the non-conference schedule.

$5 Men's Basketball Tickets Available With Can Drive
Michigan Tech Men's Basketball will host a canned food drive for Saturday's game. Fans are encouraged to bring canned goods and other non-perishable items to drop into the Salvation Army bins located in the SDC's main concourse.
Those fans still needing a ticket for the event can get into the game for only $5.00 with a donation of a non-perishable item at the Central Ticket Office from now until game time. This offer is for game tickets purchased in person at the SDC only, not purchases made online or by phone.
About the Lumberjacks
Northland, a member of the UMAC, is 0-8 on the year and most recently suffered a loss at home to UW-Stout (88-66) on Wednesday.
Senior forward Jahlani Thornton is the Lumberjacks' leading scorer and rebounder, posting 10.4 points and 7.9 rebounds per outing. Junior guard Damina Cejka has recorded a team-high four double-digit scoring games. As a team, Northland scores 58.9 points while allowing nearly 90 points to the opposition (89.0).
The Lumberjacks have faced a familiar foe to the Huskies, falling to St. Cloud State (93-43) on Nov. 23.
Cole Schreiner is in his second season at the helm of the Lumberjacks, who were tabbed to finish eighth in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference.

Michigan Tech concludes the non-conference portion of its schedule following a convincing weekend of league play, seeing the Huskies complete the opening conference weekend with the sweeping of Parkside (80-54) Thursday and Purdue Northwest (92-59) on Saturday.
The Black & Gold are now winners of four straight with an overall record of 6-3 and 2-0 in the loop. Additionally, the Huskies have the best scoring margin through two games of league play at 29.5 points.
Michigan Tech shot over 50 percent from the field in both wins at the SDC Gymnasium over the weekend, with an impressive 17-for-34 from 3-point land in Saturday's victory—a season-high for the Huskies.
Overall, the Huskies produced 11 double-digit scorers over the two games with junior forward Dawson Nordgaard being the team's leading scorer on Thursday (14 points), while the GLIAC Preseason Player of the Year, Marcus Tomashek, recorded a team-high 15 points Saturday.
Redshirt freshman forward Gabe Smith continues to impress with 10 points and five rebounds on Saturday, including two slam dunks.
In Saturday's 3-point barrage, Tomashek and first-year guard Ty Fernholz each knocked down four triples. Fernholz ranks first in the league and 14th in the nation with his 51.2 3-point percentage—he averages three 3-point makes a game, with 23 to his name this season.
Tomashek continues to be one of the nation's top scorers averaging 24.1 points per game, ranking first in the GLIAC and 10th in the country.
MTU posts 78.8 points per game, shooting over 50 percent per game (50.7), which ranks second in the GLIAC and 16th in the land.
