Tech Women Storm Past Lake Erie

Box Score

PAINESVILLE, Ohio - Senior Lindsey Lindstrom and junior Sam Hoyt each scored a game-high 20 points to lead Michigan Tech to an important 69-66 conference win at Lake Erie Saturday (Feb. 18). The Huskies improve to 17-6 overall and 12-5 in the GLIAC.

The Huskies lead 33-32 at the break thanks in large part to a 23-6 advantage in rebounds. Tech led by as many as 10 points in the second half but would need four crucial free throws from Lindstrom in the final seven seconds to preserve the win.

The Huskies finished with a 41-24 advantage in rebounds. Lake Erie stayed in the game because of 23 turnovers by Tech.

"I was really proud of the way that we finished the game," said head coach Kim Cameron.

Sophomores Kate Glodowski finished with 10 points and Taylor Stippel contributed eight.

Tech shot 53-percent (27-51) from the floor and made eight of its nine (89-percent) free throws. The Huskies shot 7-16 (44-percent) from 3-point.

Stephanie Rogers led the Storm with 19 points. Alyssa Wagers and Jen Caiola each finished in double figures with 14 and 12 points respectively.

Tech will host Saginaw Valley State Thursday (Feb. 23).
