GAEDKE CONTINUES TO PACE HUSKIES IN SCORING
Sophomore Matt Gaedke poured in 24
points at Saginaw Valley State and 13 more at Lake Superior State
and has now paced the Huskies in points four straight games. The
6-3 guard has averaged 18.6 points over the last five games after
scoring just 3.1 per contest over the first 12 outings of the year.
Gaedke has also shot 56 percent from the floor and averaged 4.0
rebound and 3.6 assists per game over the last five outings.
HOJNACKI WORKING ON THE GLASS
Mike Hojnacki tallied his
second double-double in the last three games with 12 points and 12
rebounds at Lake Superior State last Saturday (Jan. 23). Hojnacki,
who leads the team in both scoring (11.1 points per game) and
rebounding (6.3 per game) this season, has really increased his
rebounding production over the last five games. He pulled down 52
rebounds for a 10.4 average over that span after having a 4.6
average in the 12 games prior.
SERIES HISTORY VS. GRAND VALLEY AND FERRIS
STATE
Michigan Tech and Grand Valley State have met 61 times since the
series began in 1980. The Lakers own a 35-26 advantage after eight
straight wins over the Huskies. Tech owns a slight 52-50 advantage
over Ferris State in the all-time series. The road team has won
four straight in the series including Tech's 66-58 win in Big
Rapids the last time the teams met (Feb. 12, 2009). See page 5 for

Kevin Luke is in his 16th
year on the Michigan Tech bench as head coach. The school's
winningest skipper owns a career record of 278-175 (.615 winning
percentage). He is a four-time GLIAC Coach of the Year and was the
2002-03 NABC National Coach of the Year.
