THE GAME
Michigan Tech (3-4) hosts Wisconsin-Stout (3-5) tonight at the SDC Gym with opening tipoff slated for 7 p.m. The game is the Huskies' home opener.

STROM IN GLIAC TOP 12 IN SCORING, REBOUNDING
Senior Tim Strom averages 17.1 points and 6.0 rebounds per game to lead Michigan Tech in both categories. The 6-7 forward is one of only four players in the GLIAC to rank in the top 12 in both categories. Strom is sixth in scoring and 12th in rebounding. The Marquette, Mich., native has scored 120 points this season and needs another 96 to become the 21st player in school history to score 1,000 points. He currently sits at 904 career points.

HISTORY VS. WISCONSIN-STOUT
Michigan Tech has played against Wisconsin-Stout just once previously — that matchup coming to open the 2002-03 season. The Huskies won that game with a 93-71 score.

FINALLY AT HOME
After seven straight road games to open its 2007-08 season, the Michigan Tech men's basketball team will finally get to play a home game. The Huskies played games in four different states to start the season. Tuesday's (Dec. 11) contest will be their latest home opener since the 1968-69 season, when they didn't play at home until January 4. Tech has 19 games left on its regular season schedule, with 11 of those at home and eight on the road.

ALPERS SETS HIGH IN REBOUNDS
Junior Kris Alpers shattered his career high in rebounds with 13 at Northern Michigan last Saturday (Dec. 8). His previous career best was eight. The 6-9 center averages 11.6 points and 5.3 rebounds per game. He also ranks in the GLIAC top 10 in field goal percentage at 58.7.

FRESHMEN STRONG AT NORTHERN
Freshmen Don Fowler and Mike Szatko both had solid games at Northern Michigan last Saturday (Dec. 8). Fowler registered his second straight game in double figures with 10 points. He also had four rebounds and no turnovers in 37 minutes of action. Szatko's appearance at NMU was just the second game of his career, but he made the most of it by draining two 3-pointers in eight minutes of action. The two triples were the first two field goal attempts of the 6-4 forward's career.

HEAD COACH KEVIN LUKE
Head Coach Kevin Luke, who is in his 14th season at Michigan Tech, is the winningest coach in the program's history. The four-time Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Coach of the Year (1994-95, 1997-98, 2001-02, 2003-04) who was the 2002-03 National Coach of the Year owns a 250-135 all-time record (.649).
