2016: Named to GLIAC Academic All-Excellence Team ... Terry Wilson Award Winner for MTU for 2015 freshman season ... Played in all 31 matches and had 110 sets as an outside and right side attacker... Third on the team in overall blocks with a total of 42 blocks and overall blocks/set (.38) ... Fourth on the team in overall kills/set (1.86), fifth on the team in overall kills with 205 and points/set (2.1)... Sherman had 16 kills on .324 hitting versus Upper Iowa on Sept. 9 ... Had 12 kills, 0 errors on .545 hitting versus Lake Superior St on Sept 16. and she hit over .300 nine times in the season.
2015: Appeared in all 31 matches … Ranked third on the team with 266 kills, 2.63 kills per set, 284 points, and 32 total blocks … Also tallied 28 digs … Recorded double-digit kills in 12 matches … Had four total blocks three times … Tallied a season-high 16 kills vs. Lewis (Oct. 16) … Hit .583 with nine kills vs. Lake Superior State (Sept. 5) and .435 with 12 kills at Northern Michigan (Sept. 29) … Had nine kills in first match as a Husky vs. Upper Iowa (Sept. 4).
High School: Earned all-state honorable mention and all-region accolades for Midland High School in 2014 … Accumulated more than 400 kills and a .374 hitting percentage … Helped the Chemics to a 36-12 overall record in 2014 … Was named Saginaw Valley League most valuable player … Claimed all-state academic laurels … Played middle, outside and right side during her prep career.
Personal: Was an all-state caliber track athlete, having been part of a 4x400 meter relay team that set a Midland High School record and placed at the state meet. Sherman is majoring in Psychology and carries a 3.96 GPA.
