Biography

Sophomore Season (2018-19): Received the team's Gitzen-Loutit Memorial Award as the outstanding defensive player … Named a WCHA Scholar-Athlete and to the WCHA All-Academic Team … Appeared in all 38 games and tallied 22 points … Led the team with 21 assists … Ranked ninth in the WCHA and second on the team with 58 blocked shots … Named the WCHA Defensive Player of the Week on November 12 after recording three assists in a sweep at Ferris State (Nov. 9-10) … Scored lone goal in a 3-1 win over Northern Michigan (Dec. 8) … Recorded three assists versus Alaska Anchorage (Feb. 22), including the primary assist on the game-winner … Had a pair of assists at Wisconsin (Oct. 26), at Ferris State (Nov. 9), versus Bemidji State (Dec. 1), and in the GLI Championship Game against Lake Superior State (Dec. 31) … Attended the Philadelphia Flyers Development Camp in July 2019.

Freshman Season (2017-18): Received the Norbert Matovich Memorial Award as the team's top freshman … Played in 40 games during his rookie campaign, scoring three goals and adding 13 assists … Named the WCHA Rookie of March after leading all WCHA rookies with a plus-6 rating and 12 blocked shots in the month while finishing second with four points … Scored the game-winning goal in Game 1 at Bemidji State (March 2) in the WCHA Quarterfinal and had a pair of assists in the NCAA Regional game … Was second on the team with 55 blocked shots and fourth with a plus-10 rating … Had the game-winning assist at Lake Superior State (Oct. 13), versus Boston College (Jan. 5), and in the regular season finale against Northern Michigan (Feb. 24) … Tech was 3-0 when he scored a goal and 11-2-1 when he recorded a point.

Prior to Michigan Tech: Was the captain of the Wichita Falls Wildcats of the NAHL in 2016-17, tallying 32 points (4G-28A) in 45 games … Started junior career with the Penticton Vees of the BCHL, appearing in 40 games with 13 points (1G-12A) … Won two Minnesota State hockey titles with St. Thomas Academy, playing four years of high school hockey … Was the captain as a senior and alternate captain as a junior … Alec Broetzman was his teammate at St. Thomas for three seasons.
