Biography

Kyle Bangen begins his sixth year on the Michigan Tech coachingstaff as the strength and conditioning coach.

Bangen comes to Tech from Miami (Ohio) University, where heserved as a volunteer assistant strength and conditioning coach forthe Redhawks men’s hockey team during the 2004-05 season.Prior to his stint at Miami, Bangen was the strength andconditioning coach at Notre Dame College in Wilcox, Saskatchewan,from 2002 to 2004. He spent 1999 to 2002 as a volunteer strengthand conditioning coach for the University of BritishColumbia’s men’s hockey squad.

The Kamloops, British Columbia, native, received abachelor’s degree in exercise science from British Columbiain 2002 and a master’s degree from Miami in 2005.

A Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) with theNational Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and aCertified Sports Performance Coach through USA Weightlifting,Bangen has worked with over 300 NCAA athletes and over 100professional athletes.

Bangen and his wife, Michelle, reside in Hancock, Mich., withtheir daughter Aila.
