High School: Johnson was named U.P. Defensive Player of the Year, All-State Defensive End, All-State Dream Team D-Line, Conference Defensive Player of the Year, two-time U.P. Dream Team Defensive End, two-time Conference First Team Defensive End and a two-time First Team All-Region Defensive End for Kingsford. In his senior campaign, he recorded 13 sacks and 25 tackles for loss, helping Kingsford to a District Championship.
