Tim Driscoll is in his first season as a Volunteer Assistant Coach with the Michigan Tech Football team in 2026. He previously served as the top Defensive Assistant Coach for the Huskies from 2004-13.
 
Driscoll was the Head Coach at Houghton High School for three seasons (2023-25) and began the football program at NCAA Division III Finlandia University, serving as the Head Coach from 2015-17. Driscoll was the Defensive Coordinator at UNC Pembroke from 2018-19.
 
In his first stop at Tech, Driscoll crafted one of the GLIAC’s most feared defensive units. A regular among the nation’s top defensive teams as well, the Huskies ranked first or second in total defense among the GLIAC’s 15 squads in three of his last four seasons at Tech, while also leading the league in scoring defense on two occasions as well.
 
Michigan Tech compiled a 64-35 (.646) clip with Driscoll at the reins of its defensive unit, and made one appearance (2004) in the NCAA Division II Playoffs. Along the way, Driscoll helped the Huskies stake claim to a conference title (2004), as well as the league’s North Division crown in 2012. MTU also boasted a pair of league defensive lineman of the year and two GLIAC defensive back of the year during that time as well.
 
Before coming to Michigan Tech, Driscoll spent six of the previous seven seasons as a defensive coordinator, at Minnesota, Crookston Jamestown College.
 
Prior to that, he was Northern Michigan’s defensive coordinator. The Marquette, Mich., native earned a bachelor’s degree in physical education from North Dakota State in 1995 and remained there to gain a master’s degree in athletic administration in 1997.
 
Driscoll and his wife, Vicky, have three daughters, Sierrah, Sloane and Reese. The Driscolls reside in Hancock.
