SCOUTING THE CARDINALS
• Saginaw Valley State is 2-2 with wins over Northwood and Walsh and losses to McKendree and Findlay.
• Melanie Koinitys has three goals and an assist through the first four games.
• The Cardinals went 13-6-2 overall last season and 9-4-1 in the GLIAC and were picked second in the GLIAC Preseason Poll.
 
SCOUTING THE LAKERS
• Grand Valley State is 2-1-1 on the season with wins over Cedarville and Bemidji State, a tie with No. 22 Ashland, and a loss at No. 16 Minnesota State.
• The Lakers are ranked No. 5 in the IWSOC Coaches Poll in Partnership with United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division II Women. They are tied with Minnesota State.
• Vesna Dennison and Sonya Mehta have each scored two goals.
• The Lakers were the top pick in the GLIAC Preseason Poll and accumulated nine of 10 first place votes.
• Last season, GVSU went 19-2-1 overall and 13-1 in the GLIAC. They won the GLIAC Tournament and fell in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
 
LAST TIME OUT
• The Huskies wrapped up non-conference play with a pair of losses on the road in Ohio.
• Tech fell 3-1 to Northwood on Thursday and 3-0 to Cedarville on Saturday. Kenzie Dollison scored for the Huskies.

UPCOMING SCHEDULE
• The first conference road trip is to Parkside (Sept. 18) and Roosevelt (Sept. 20) to begin a four-game road trip.
• Tech travels to Saginaw Valley State (Sept. 25) and Ferris State (Sept. 27) the following weekend.

COACH KUHAR
• Melissa Kuhar is in her second season as Head Coach of the Huskies.
• She was named the third leader of the program on June 3, 2024.
• Kuhar came to Tech after being an assistant coach for four seasons at Drury University.
• She also had stops at Bethany College and Salina and Saint Joseph High School.
• Kuhar played collegiate soccer at St. Joseph's, Ind., a former NCAA Division II institution from 2014-16.
