HOUGHTON, Mich. – The Michigan Tech hockey team is ranked No. 17 in this week's USCHO.com and USA Hockey polls. The Huskies have been ranked in the top 20 since Jan. 19 and are currently No. 18 in the NCAA Percentage Index.
The Huskies swept No. 17 Augustana over the weekend on Winter Carnival and have won nine of their last 11 games. Five of the victories have been over top 20 ranked opponents.
Other CCHA opponents in the polls are 15/15 St. Thomas, 16/16 Minnesota State, and 18/18 Augustana.
Tech is one of six teams in the nation with 20 wins and are 20-10-2 overall and in second place in the CCHA standings with a 15-5-2 conference record. The Huskies travel to Lake Superior State for the final road series of the regular season. The only meeting with the Lakers of the regular season is at 7:07 p.m. Friday and 6:07 p.m. Saturday at Taffy Abel Arena.
The USCHO.com Division I Men's Ice Hockey Poll is compiled weekly and consists of 50 voters, including coaches and media professionals from across the country. Media outlets may republish this poll as long as USCHO.com is credited.
The 31st annual USA Hockey Men's College Hockey Poll is conducted each week in conjunction with the American Hockey Coaches Association. The poll includes input from coaches and journalists representing each of the six NCAA Division I ice hockey conferences, as well as composite votes from officers of the AHCA and USA Hockey.
