HOUGHTON, Mich. – The 2025 GLIAC Coach of the Year Dan Mettlach has announced the addition of 42 student-athletes to Michigan Tech football on National Signing Day. 

"We are excited about this year's class. We took care of needs in all position groups replacing the large number of graduates over the past two years," Mettlach said. "I can't say enough about our staff for recruiting such a high quality group of guys that fit our program in every way."

Bjorn Anderson | 6-3 | 265 | OL. | Marquette, Mich. | Marquette HS

High school: Bjorn is an All U.P. first teamer in his senior season while being named to the all-conference first team, academic all-state and All U.P. special mention in his junior season. He is a member of the National Honors Society and was the Marquette football academic player of the year. 

Personal: Bjorn is the son of Derek and Stephanie. While at Michigan Tech, he plans to earn his degree in mechanical engineering. 

Grady Augustyn | 6-0 | 195 | QB. | Grand Rapids, Mich. | Grand Rapids West Catholic HS

High school: In his senior season, Grady threw for 1,857 yards and 19 touchdowns while rushing for 155 yards and four touchdowns in 11 games. 

Personal: Grady is the son of Julie and Mark. While at Michigan Tech, he plans to earn his degree in construction management. 

Jadon Bender | 5-11 | 180 | DB. | Lansing, Mich. | Dewitt HS

High school: Jadon is an all-state, two-time all-region and a two-time all-conference recipient and was named the most outstanding sophomore performer in tack & field. He recorded nine interceptions on the gridiron and holds a long jump personal-best of 20-5.

Personal: Jadon is the son of Sherry. While at Michigan Tech, he plans to earn his degree in business management. 

Xander Brock | 6-3 | 295 | OL. | Alma, Mich. | St. Louis HS

High school: Xander is an all-state, all-region, a four-time all-conference two-time all-county, an all-area and Saginaw dream team recipient. In his senior season he totaled 95 tackles, 60 pancakes, 14 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks, five receptions for 84 yards and a touchdown. 

Personal: Xander is the son of Ken and Keri. While at Michigan Tech, he plans to earn his degree in management. 

Maddex Burklund | 6-1 | 275 | DL. | Vulcan, Mich. | Norway HS

High School: Maddex is a second team all-conference defensive lineman, a first team all conference defensive lineman, first team all-conference offensive lineman, first team all-region offensive lineman and a first team all U.P. offensive lineman.

Personal: Maddex is the son of Ericka and Nathaniel. He plans to earn his degree in exercise science while at Michigan Tech.

Lance Cantrell | 5-10 | 200 | RB. | Oxford, Ohio | Tallawanda HS

High school: Lance is a two-time honor roll student. He is an all-state Ohio player of the year, region player of the year, first team all-Ohio and a two-time conference offensive player of the year. For his career, he has rushed for over 4,000 yards and 50 touchdowns. 

Personal: Lance is the son of Krista. While at Michigan Tech, he plans to earn his degree in business. 

Henry Crumlett | 6-3 | 265 | OL. | Elgin, Ill. | Central HS

High school: Henry is a three year varsity starter being all-area second team in football and an academic all-state recipient. He is also a four year varsity thrower and an all-conference discus thrower. 

Personal: Henry is the son of Chuck and Hillary. While at Michigan Tech, he plans to earn his degree in wildlife ecology. 

Landen Daigneau | 5-10 | 175 | ATH. | Menominee, Mich. | Menominee HS

High school: Landen is a first team all-conference linebacker, an all U.P. special mention linebacker and an all-region wide receiver. He is also a member of the National Honors Society and a two time All-State academic team member. 

Personal: Landen is the son of Steve and Mary Fay. While at Michigan Tech, he plans to earn his degree in kinesiology. 

Dylan Daniels | 5-10 | 170 | WR. | Grand Rapids, Mich. | Catholic Central HS

High school: Dylan played wide receiver at Catholic Central High School. 

Personal: Dylan is the son of Dustin and Jill. While at Michigan Tech, he plans to earn his degree in chemical engineering. 

Braedyn Evans | 6-2 | 235 | DL. | Riverview, Mich. | Riverview HS

High school: Braedyn is a four year varsity starter, an all-region selection, a three-time all-league recipient and a lineman of the year for his team. He totaled 37 tackles, 26 pressures, five tackles for loss, four sacks and three pass deflections. 

Personal: Braedyn is the son of April and Kenneth. While at Michigan Tech, he plans to earn his degree in civil engineering. 

Jai Ewing | 5-20 | 170 | DB. | Phoenix, Ariz. | Pinnacle HS

High School: Jai recorded five pick sixes his freshman year to go with five touchdowns as a wide receiver. He played varsity all four years and recorded 28 tackles on the season. 

Personal: Jai is the son of Jeff and Charlene. His major is undecided. 

Isaac Fair | 6-5 | 236 | DL. | Whitmore Lake, Mich. | Whitmore Lake HS

High school: Isaac is a two-time first team all-conference selection, an all-state honorable mention and a three-time defensive player of the year. Academically, he has maintained a 3.95 or higher for his high school career, is a member of the National Honors Society and a four time honor roll student. 

Personal: Isaac is the son of Angie and Derrick. While at Michigan Tech he plans to earn his degree in electrical, or mechanical engineering.

Ethan Gauthier | 6-3 | 250 | OL. | Negaunee, Mich. | Negaunee HS

High school: Ethan is a two-time All U.P. first team selection, a two-time all-region selection and a two-time first team all-conference recipient. 

Personal: Ethan is the son of Laura and Jason. While at Michigan Tech, he plans to earn his degree in engineering. 

Brayden Goudge | 5-11 | 180 | RB. | South Range, Mich. | Houghton HSl

High school: Brayden is a four year varsity athlete being first team all-conference defensive back and punter while being an All U.P. dream team running back. In his senior season he rushed for 1,115 yards and 16 touchdowns. 

Personal: Brayden is the son of Gina and Jeff. While at Michigan Tech, he plans to earn his degree in exercise science. 

Brandon Hamilton | 6-0 | 250 | DL | Niles, Mich. | Niles HS

High school: Brandon is a one-time all-state selection, a three time all-area selection, a three time all-region selection and a four-time first team all-conference selection while being academic all-state. 

Personal: Brandon is the son of Doreen. While at Michigan Tech, he plans to earn his degree in exercise science. 

Logan Hedstrom | 5-11 | 185 | ATH. | Stoughton, Wis. | Stoughton HS 

High school: Logan is a second team and all-conference honorable mention selection. He rushed for over 1,400 yards for 13 touchdowns while recording 60 tackles, one interception and two fumble recoveries. He is a member of the National Honors Society and an academic all-state recipient. 

Personal: Logan is the son of Kurt and Cindi. While at Michigan Tech, he plans to earn his degree in construction management. 

Jackson Hildebrant | 6-1 | 280 | OL. | Dewitt, Mich. | Dewitt HS

High school: Jackson is a two-time all-area, two-time all district, two-time all region and two-time all-conference selection playing center at Dewitt. 

Personal: Jackson is the son of Michelle and Andy. While at Michigan Tech, he plans to earn his degree in mechanical engineering. 

Eli Jackson | 6-0 | 165 | DB. | Algonquin, Ill. | Carmel Catholic HS

High school: Jackson finished his senior season with 53 receptions for 884 yards and seven touchdowns to go with one interception and 12 pass breakups.

Personal: Eli is the son of Sabrina and Jason. While at Michigan Tech, he plans to earn his degree in business. 

Elijah James | 6-5 | 225 | TE. | New Lenox, Ill. | Lincoln Way West HS 

High school: Elijah is a second team all-conference selection with 17 receptions for 225 yards and two touchdowns, he is also an AP scholar with a distinction in math and is also a member of the National Honor Society. 

Personal: Elijah is the son of Randy and Nannette. While at Michigan Tech, he plans to earn a degree in aerospace engineering. 

Brett Karwowski Jr. | 6-1 | 237 | DL. | Howell, Mich. | Hartland HS

High school: Brett is an all-county and an all-conference KIAA honorable mention. In his senior season he recorded 5.5 sacks, 27 tackles for loss, 11 pressures, 40 total tackles, two forced fumbles and an interception. Academically, he is a two-time Nation Honors Society student of the month. 

Personal: Brett is the son of Kelly. While at Michigan Tech, he plans to earn his degree in mechanical engineering. 

Jack Kriegl | 5-10 | 160 | ATH. | Kingsford, Mich. | Kingsford HS

High school: Jack is a 2025 honorable mention all west pac, a 2024 second team all west pac in football, while being a second team all GNC in basketball and a first team GNC dream team gold glove in 2024 and 2025. 

Personal: Jack is the son of Joe and Laura. While at Michigan Tech, he plans to earn his degree in engineering management.

Josh Lochbiler | 6-5 | 185 | SAF. | Romeo, Mich. | Romeo HS

High school: Josh played in all 12 games his senior season finishing with four interceptions, 56 solo tackles and 33 assisted. He is an all-state honorable mention and an all-region first team recipient. 

Personal: Josh is the son of Rich and Heide. While at Michigan Tech, he plans to earn his degree in engineering management and an MBA.

High school: Cameron is an all-north honorable mention and all-conference preseason recipient and also earned scholar athlete award for Clarkston varsity football. 

Personal: Cameron is the son of April and Harold. While at Michigan Tech, he plans to earn his degree in robotics engineering.

High school: Anthony is a first team all-state selection and a two-time first team all-region recipient. 

Personal: Anthony is the son of Evita. While at Michigan Tech, he plans to earn his degree in business.

High school: Robbie is a three year varsity starter and defensive captain in his senior year. He had two interceptions, 140 total tackles, six touchdowns, 23 pass breakups and six forced fumbles while earning first team SVL. 

Personal: Robbie is the son of Tonya and Rob. While at Michigan Tech, he plans to earn his degree in construction management. 

Aiden Moore | 5-11 | 180 | WR. | Linden, Mich. | Linden HS

High school: Aiden is a first team all-metro league and first time all-region recipient in football. He broke the single season receiving yard record at Linden and finished his senior season with 1,142 receiving yards and 11 receiving touchdowns. 

Personal: Aiden is the son of Stephanie and Tony. While at Michigan Tech, he plans to earn his degree in pre-medical.

High school: Cole is an all-region selection his senior year with all-region and all-district academic honors. 

Personal: Cole is the son of Michelle and Michael. While at Michigan Tech, he plans to earn his degree in business.

High school: Jacob is the Chandler High School team defensive player of the year, an all-state second team selection and an all-region first team honoree. 

Personal: Jacob is the son of David and Lina. While at Michigan Tech, he plans to earn his degree in business. 

Craig Peacock Jr. | 6-0 | 165 | ATH. | Joliet, Ill. | Joliet Catholic Academy

High School: Craig is a member of the national english honors society and played running back at Joliet Catholic Academy

Personal: Craig is the son of Angela and Craig. While at Michigan Tech, he plans to earn his degree in criminal law. 

Sully Perkins | 6-1 | 160 | WR | Scandinavia, Wis. | Amherst HS

High school: Sully finished his high school career with over 2,600 all purpose yards, 25 touchdowns and six interceptions. He was an all-conference wide receiver and defensive back in his junior and senior seasons and was the state leader in kick return touchdowns in his junior campaign. 

Personal: Sully is the son of Cary and Heidi. While at Michigan Tech, he plans to earn his degree in construction management. 

Drew Rumsey | 6-2 | 285 | OL. | Dewitt, Mich. | Dewitt HS

High school: Drew is a two-time all-state, two time all-region, two-time all CAAC Blue Dream Team and a two-time all-league recipient while winning the 2025 D3 state championship. Academically, he was a leading scholar finalist for CAAC Blue All-Academic team.

Personal: Drew is the son of Marshall and Amy. While at Michigan Tech, he plans to earn his degree in mechanical engineering. 

CJ Sageman | 5-9 | 165 | DB. | Brighton, Mich. | Brighton HS

High school: CJ is a four time scholar athlete and academic All-state selection. He had 22 pass breakups, only 13 catches allowed in two years, six interceptions and 89 total tackles on defense. Offensively, he had eight catches for 113 yards and 694 return yards. He was an All-conference defensive back, all-county defensive back and won the most valuable junior award in his junior year.

Personal: CJ is the son of Charlie and Sarah. While at Michigan Tech, he plans to earn his degree in mechanical engineering. 

Louis Salmi | 5-10 | 165 | ATH. | Ishpeming, Mich. | Westwood HS

High school: Louis led his team in tackles and yards in both his junior and senior seasons. He was an all-conference second team running back in his junior and senior seasons while being named the All U.P. special mention running back in his junior year and an All U.P. honorable mention running back his senior year.

Personal: Louis is the son of Jason and Kari. While at Michigan Tech, he plans to earn his degree in aerospace engineering.

Jacob Schorfhaar | 6-3 | 230 | DL./LB. | Dewitt, Mich. | Dewitt HS

High school: Jacob was a team captain for an undefeated Dewitt state champion football team. He recorded 50 pancakes, four sacks, and 30 receptions for 400 yards and four touchdowns. In his junior year, he had 40 solo tackles, 32 assists, three sacks for 72 total tackles while having 23 catches for 330 yards and three touchdowns. Schorfhaar is a two-time all-region selection and has been a part of a district championship in 2022, a regional championship in 2024 and a state championship in 2025. 

Personal: Jacob is the son of Andrew and Elizabeth. While at Michigan Tech, he plans to earn his degree in business. 

Cole Strieter | 6-2 | 185 | LB. | Frankenmuth, Mich. | Saginaw Valley Lutheran HS

High school: Cole was a 2024 team MVP and 2025 team defensive player of the year, while earning first team all-conference at linebacker in 2024 and first team all-conference at running back in 2025. 

Personal: Cole is the son Brian and Rachel. While at Michigan Tech, he plans to earn his degree in mechanical engineering. 

Kyle Timmer | 6-0 | 196 | LB. | Franklin, Wis. | Franklin HS 

High school: Kyle is a 2023 state runner-up while at Lakeview High School and finished the 2025 season with 23 total tackles, 17 solo, one tackle for loss, a forced fumble and an interception. Academically, he is a 2024 academic all-state recipient and has been a three-time National Honors Society honor roll student.

Personal: Kyle is the son of Joe and Renee. While at Michigan Tech, he plans to earn his degree in aerospace engineering. 

Vincent Tringali | 6-5 | 260 | OL. | Warren, Mich. | Lakeview HS

High school: Vincent was a team captain on the best team in school history winning a district championship and leading the team to a 9-3 record. He was a first team all-state, all-region all-county all-conference and lineman of the year for Lakeview. 

Personal: Vincent is the son of Jacqueline and Matthew. While at Michigan Tech, he plans to earn his degree in engineering management. 

Tommy Westrom | 5-11 | 175 | DB. | Naperville, Ill. | Neuqua Valley HS

High school: Tommy was an all-conference and all-area honorable mention defensive back for Neuqua Valley highlighted by four interceptions, over 30 pass breakups, 150 tackles and five sacks. Academically, he holds a 3.85 GPA and is a member of the high honor roll.

Personal: Tommy is the son of Fran and Dan. While at Michigan Tech, he plans to earn his degree in accounting. 

David Williams III | 6-2 | 240 | DL. | Kalamazoo, Mich. | Kalamazoo Central HS 

High school: David is a two-time all-state selection and a two-time all-state academics football. He has recorded 123 tackles, 30 tackles for loss, 13 sacks, five forced fumbles and three defensive touchdowns. 

Personal: David is the son of Teresa. While at Michigan Tech, he plans to earn his degree in sports management. 

Manollo Williams | 6-3 | 215 | TE. | Lansing, Mich. | Holt HS 

High school: Manollo is an all-conference tight end with personal-bests of 4.6 for a 40, 250 clean, 450 deadlift, 285 bench and 460 squat. 

Personal: Manollo is the son of Maurin and Pierre. While at Michigan Tech, he plans to earn his degree in civil engineering. 

Daniel Wylie Jr. | 6-2 | 280 | OL. | Wyoming, Mich. | Grandville HS

High school: Daniel is an all-region and academic all-state recipient with personal records of 5.1 for the 40 yard dash, 300lb bench and 480 squat. 

Personal: Daniel is the son of Heather and Dan. While at Michigan Tech, he plans to earn his degree in business. 

Carter Yates | 6-0 | 170 | DB. | Portage, Mich. | Portage Northern HS

High school: Carter is a two-time first team all-conference selection, a first team dream team DBMHSAA track qualifier and a new balance nationals track qualifier. 

Personal: Carter is the son of Bill and Cathy. While at Michigan Tech, he plans to earn his degree in business management.
