HOUGHTON, Mich. – Michigan Tech senior guard Marcus Tomashek has been named to the Bevo Francis Top 100 Watch List announced today for the top player in the NCAA Division II, III, NAIA, USCAA and NCCAA ranks.
The Clarence "Bevo" Francis Award is presented annually to the player who has had the finest overall season within Small College Basketball. Considerations will be season statistics and individual achievements, awards, personal character and team achievements.
Tomashek, a standout from Green Bay, Wisconsin, leads the No. 8 nationally-ranked Huskies in scoring this season at 20.2 ppg, adding 4.6 rpg and 3.1 apg. His 20.2 points per game and 306 points this season rank second in the GLIAC.
Tomashek became the fifth player in program history to score 2,000 points and he currently is the Division II active career leader in points (2,019), three-point field goals made (271), three-point attempts (745), while ranking second in scoring average (19.4).
Tomashek made it to the Bevo Francis Top 25 Watch List a season ago after being named the GLIAC Player of the Year and Midwest Region Player of the Year before earning All-America accolades.
