WEEKEND MATCHES
• Michigan Tech heads to Minnesota for four matches in the Up North Tournament.
• The Huskies play at Minnesota Duluth on Thursday at 7 p.m. Eastern.
• Tech then travels down to St. Cloud to matchup with No. 17 Barry at 12:30 p.m. Friday followed by a 6:30 p.m. matchup against No. 10 SCSU.
• The weekend wraps up back in Duluth on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. against Adelphi.
• Northern Michigan is also at the tournament but won't play the Huskies.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
• Minnesota Duluth went 4-0 at the McKendree Invitational with victories of Southwestern Oklahoma State, McKendree, Purdue Northwest, and Missouri-St. Louis. The Bulldogs are receiving votes in the AVCA Top 25 Poll. Ava Jones was named the NSIC Setter of the Week.
• Barry is ranked No. 17 in the AVCA  poll with a 2-0 record. The Buccaneers swept Malone and D'Youville on their opening weekend in Florida. Barry was picked third in the SSC Preseason Poll. Reigning SSC Freshmen of the Year, Veronika Eremeeva led the way with 21 kills and swinging .400.
• St. Cloud State is ranked No. 10 in the AVCA poll with a 2-2 record. The Huskies have wins over No. 4 San Francisco State, and Central Washington with losses to Simon Fraser and Western Washington. SCSU was picked first the NSIC Presason Poll and middle blocker Ella Thompson was named the Preseason Player of the Year for the conference.
• Adelphi is 1-3 on the season with a win over Belmont Abbey and losses to No. 1 Lynn, No. 19 Gannon and Post. Macarty McQueen was named the Northeast 10 Player of the Week after she averaged 4.69 kills per set and totaled 75 through 16 sets. The Panthers were picked second in the Northeast 10 Preseason Poll.

LAST WEEKEND
• Tech opened its season by going 2-1 at the McKendree Invitational. The Huskies lost 3-0 to Missouri-St. Louis on Friday but bounced back with a 3-1 win over Southwestern Oklahoma State on Friday and a sweep of host McKendree.
•
Jacqueline Yancy led the defense with 3.5 kills per set while
Tess Hayes averaged 10.10 assists per set and
Julia Fledderjohn anchored the defense with 3.5 digs per set.

McKENDREE ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM
•
Brooke Dzwik led the Huskies with 32 kills in the three sets, averaging 3.2 per set. Also led the Black and Gold with seven aces, and 54 receptions while ranking second with 28 digs, averaging 2.8 per set.
•
Rachel Zurek led the Huskies with 11 blocks on the weekend and put down 27 kills, averaging 3 per set. She had over eight kills in all three matches.
COACH PINDRAL
• Cindy Pindral was named the eighth Head Coach of the Michigan Tech volleyball program on December 2, 2024.
• Pindral returned to the Huskies after being an Assistant Head Coach, Assistant Coach, and Volunteer Coach with the Huskies for seven seasons from 2016 to 2022.
• During her seven years with the Huskies, the team held a 139-62 overall record. Tech went to four straight NCAA Tournaments from 2017-21 and won a pair of regular-season GLIAC championships in the spring of 2021 and then repeated in the fall of 2021.
• As a freshman student-athlete at the University of Florida, Pindral was the starting setter for the Gators who went to the NCAA Sweet 16, won an SEC Championship, and were ranked as high as No. 10.
• She finished her collegiate career as a three-time starter at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. She was an Academic All-American and All-RMAC selection.

LAST SEASON
• Tech finished the 2024 season with a 17-12 overall record.
• The Huskies advanced to the GLIAC semifinal for the eighth consecutive time last season, with a 10-7 GLIAC record and a fifth-place finish in the conference.
