BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Michigan Tech opened the postseason with a 2-1 overtime loss at Bowling Green on Friday in Game 1 of the CCHA Mason Cup Quarterfinal series. The Falcons scored 5:10 into overtime to take the best-of-three series lead.

"We were a good team after the first period," Tech coach Joe Shawhan said. "We battled hard tonight, and I thought Campbell and Manzella were outstanding and gave us a chance to win."

The Huskies entered the third period trailing 1-0, but it didn't take long to tie the game. Stiven Sardarian took a shot from the sidewall that was saved. He followed his shot and jammed in the rebound to tie the game with his 11th of the season 1:32 after intermission. Chase Pietila assisted on the goal.

In overtime, Quinn Emerson scored the game-winner finishing off a 2-on-1 with Ben Doran who flipped the setup pass over a pair of diving Huskies. Eric Parker added the second assist.

BGSU opened scoring with 19.8 seconds left in the first period. Jaden Grant was awarded the goal. Initially the official behind the net waved off the play but after review it was called a goal.
