HOUGHTON, Mich. – Michigan Tech forward
Teydon Trembecky has been named the CCHA Rookie of the Month for October the conference announced on Tuesday.
Trembecky scored five goals and added five assists in his first month of college hockey. The native of Sherwood Park, Alberta had two goals and an assist against Ferris State in the home-opener on Oct. 24. Trembecky scored twice at Clarkson (Oct. 31) and had a goal and an assist at Minnesota (Oct. 4). He had three power-play goals, 23 shots on goal, and seven blocked shots.
Trembecky leads the Huskies with five goals and ranks second on the team with 10 points. He leads CCHA rookies in goals and ranks third amongst all NCAA newcomers. His 10 points also lead CCHA rookies and ranks fifth nationally.
Tech is 5-3 overall and 2-0 in the CCHA and plays rival Northern Michigan this weekend. The two teams will meet in Houghton on Friday at 7:07 p.m. and in Marquette on Saturday at 6:07 p.m. Select seats are still available for Friday's game, with general admission tickets also on sale.
