HOUGHTON, Mich. – Michigan Tech senior goalkeeper Bri Barrows has been named the GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday.
The Oxford, Michigan, native helped Michigan Tech to a 1-0 win over rival Northern Michigan on Sunday for the Huskies first win in Marquette since Sept. 30, 2018. Barrows made five saves facing a season-high 23 shots.Â
The shutout was the first of the season for Barrows, the sixth of her career and the first shutout of the Wildcats since Oct. 3, 2021.Â
Barrows and the Huskies shift to the second half of league play next week, starting a four-game road stand at Davenport on Friday and Saginaw Valley State on Sunday.
