HOUGHTON, Mich. – Michigan Tech cross country freshman Hannah DuPuis has been named GLIAC Athlete of the Week.Â
The accolade marks the second women's cross country student-athlete to earn GLIAC Athlete of the Week honors, while it is the first for the freshman.
DuPuis, a native of Caledonia, Michigan, was the low-stick for the Black & Gold as the top-finisher for the Huskies for the first time in her young career, claiming 24th-place in a personal-best 22:05.1 at the most competitive Division II race of the season—the Lewis Crossover, which showcased 36 teams and over 336 runners. She helped the Huskies to a 17th-place team finish and was the fifth-fastest freshman in the field.
DuPuis and the rest of the Huskies will be in action at home on Friday, hosting the Husky Invitational at the Tech Trails.
