HOUGHTON, Mich. – The Michigan Tech cross country squads complete the regular season in Escanaba, Michigan, on Friday at the Bay College Invite.

The Huskies will showcase four women in the 5,000m race slated for a noon start while 15 men will be competing in the 8,000m race at 12:45 p.m.

Last Time Out

The Huskies enjoyed some quality performances in the biggest meet of the regular season, at the Lewis Crossover on Saturday.

The men of Michigan Tech moved up three spots in the USTFCCCA National Coaches' Poll following their seventh-place team finish, besting six teams among the top-30 nationally. Sam Lange was the top finisher for the Black & Gold placing 25th in a time of 24:33.6, seeing him earn his second GLIAC Athlete of the Week accolade of the season for his efforts. 

Sophomore standout Sophia Rhein led the women with a 35th-place finish in a field of 334 runners to help the women place 19th in a stacked field with ten teams among the top-30 nationally. 

Lucas Seng and Austin Smelker posted 8k personal-bests in the men's open race, seeing the duo crack the 26-minute barrier for the first time in their careers. Seng placed 10th in the race in 25:52.3 with Smelker a second behind, taking 11th in 25:53.3.

The first-year duo of Brielle Kero and Julia Moxey have continued to progress through the season, breaking 26 minutes for the first time in their young careers. Kero took 37th overall in the women's open race clocking 25:27.3 with Moxey close behind in 38th in a time of 25:29.2.
