HOUGHTON, Mich. – Michigan Tech cross country and track & field student-athletes Michael Dennis, Claire Endres and Ingrid Halverson have been selected to the CSC Academic All-District Team, announced Tuesday.
All three are CSC Academic All-District selections for the first time in their careers.Â
Dennis, a native of Saint Johns, Michigan, earned All-GLIAC and All-Region honors following a 10th-place finish at the GLIAC Cross Country Championships and a 24th-place finish at the Midwest Region Cross Country Championships to lead the Huskies on the grass in the championship season. On the oval, he held the best 10,000m time on the team and placed 6th in the event at the GLIAC Championships while ranking 14th regionally. His time of 14:39.90 in the 5,000m ranked second on the team and 28th in the region. In the classroom, Dennis held a perfect 4.00 GPA while studying computer science.
Endres, hailing from Saline, Michigan, broke the school record for the 3,000m steeplechase in the outdoor track season debut before finishing sixth in the 3,000m steeplechase at the GLIAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Her time in the 3,000m steeplechase ranked ninth in the midwest region this season. Endres holds a 3.66 GPA while pursuing a degree in electrical engineering.Â
Halverson, a local of Wayzata, Minnesota, placed sixth in the 10,000m at the GLIAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Her performances of 36:52.94 in the 10,000m and 17:49.43 in the 5,000m led the Huskies this spring and ranked 20th and 48th in the midwest region, respectively. Academically, Halverson maintained a 4.00 GPA pursuing a master's degree in electrical and computer engineering.
Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced July 14, 2026 (men) and July 14, 2026 (women).
