GREEN BAY, Wis. - Green Bay freshman Maria Lillge scored her first two career goals to lead the Phoenix to a 4-2 win over Michigan Tech in women's soccer action Friday (Sept. 7).

"We unfortunately had a slow start to the game which costed us a couple early goals," said head coach Michelle Jacob. "This was a fast pace, physical game and once we were able to adjust to the speed of play, we were able to possess the ball and create a strong attack. We played much better the second half and I was proud of our players persistence and determination which resulted in two very good goals for us. A special thanks to all the fans who braved the rainy weather to come cheer on the Huskies tonight."

Megan Braatz opened the scoring for Green Bay with a goal in the second minute.

Maria Lillge scored her first goal with two minutes remaining in the first half. She followed up with her second goal of the game two minutes into the second half.

Renee Therrien scored the final Phoenix goal in the 51st minute.

Katie Boardman scored her first goal of the season off a deflection in the box in 53rd minute. Lexi Herrewig assisted on the goal. Boardman also assisted on the team's second goal by Lindsey Van Rooy in the 71st minute.

Jenna Phelps made three saves on seven shots for the Huskies.

Green Bay finished with a 17-13 advantage in shots and a 9-2 advantage in corner kicks.

Tech will host Northern Michigan in a non-conference match on Monday (Sept. 10).
