TIFFIN, Ohio - The Michigan Tech men's tennis team cruised to an 8-1 win at Tiffin Friday (Apr. 1) in a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference match. The victory improved the Huskies' record to 5-7 overall and 1-3 in league play.

Tech opened the match with a 3-0 lead after sweeping the doubles competition. Luka Stupar and Doug Yossida combined for an 8-4 victory at No. 1 while Anders Sandholm and Andrew Kremkow were victorious by an identical score at No. 2. James Konarske and Chris Verhulst completed the sweep with a 9-7 decision at No. 3.

In singles, the Huskies won every match in straight sets except the No. 5 flight, where Kremkow was edged in a third-set super tiebreaker 6-3, 2-6, 10-6.

"We played well and did a good job making decisions during every point," said head coach Mike Axford. "This match should give us confidence going forward."
