ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Curtis Leinweber scored twice to lift Alaska
Anchorage to a 4-1 win over the Michigan Tech hockey team at
Sullivan Arena Friday (Feb. 4).
UAA got on the scoreboard first after Nick Haddad sent a pass
across the face of the goal to Leinweber who fired a one-timer by
Michigan Tech goalie Kevin
Genoe at 11:04 of the first period. Matt Bailey also assisted
on the goal.

Gordic would tie the game at 1-1 for the Huskies with a
power-play goal at 2:16 of the second period. Gordic redirected a
shot by Deron
Cousens for his team-leading 12th goal of the season. Steven
Seigo recorded his 13th assist of the season on the goal.
The Seawolves followed up with a power-play goal of their own off
the stick of Wes McLeod at 14:34.
UAA would add two more goals in the third period.
Leinweber scored a short-handed goal at 11:51 and Craig Parkinson
wrapped up the scoring with an even-strength goal at 15:30.
UAA finished with a 23-14 advantage in shots. The Huskies finished
1-4 on the power play and the Seawolves were 1-3.
Genoe finished with 19 saves for Tech and Chris Kamal made 13 saves
for Anchorage.
The two teams will close out the season series Saturday (Feb.
5).
