HOUGHTON, Mich. - Head hockey coach Mel Pearson has finalized his roster for the 2011-12 campaign. The squad will carry 30 players including 27 skaters and three goaltenders.

"It was a tough decision based on the short amount of evaluation time we had on the ice with the team," said Pearson. "I feel like we've got a really good group of players on the roster who are ready to compete every day and challenge each other for playing time."

Senior center Brett Olson (Superior, Wis.) will serve as team captain for the second straight season. The team will have three assistant captains in senior right wing Jordan Baker (Chestermere, Alb.), junior defenseman Carl Nielsen (Amherst, Ohio) and junior defenseman Steven Seigo (Edenwold, Sask.).

Michigan Tech officially opens its 2011-12 regular season tomorrow (Oct. 7) night at 7:07 p.m. The Huskies host American International.
