HOUGHTON, Mich. - Northwood defeated the Michigan Tech
volleyball team 3-1 Friday (Oct. 28th).
The Huskies fended off set point four times in the first set to tie
the score at 24-24. The two teams would trade points until an
attack error by the Huskies and a service ace by the Timberwolves
gave NU the win, 27-25.
Tech rebounded in the second set. The Huskies used a seven-point
run early in the first set to take a 10-2 lead. Northwood narrowed
the Tech lead to 15-10, but the Huskies would win set two,
25-16.
Tech enjoyed a .217 to .140 advantage in attack percentage in the
third set, but Northwood took the set 25-21.
The Timberwolves won the fourth set 25-18 thanks to a match-high 18
kills.
Sara Skornia tallied a match-high 17 kills for the Timberwolves,
and Jordanna Kero led the Huskies with 10.
Shelby Jones and Tessa Mauer each tallied a match-high 19 digs. Brianna Wethal chipped in a match-high five
blocks.
Tech will host Lake Superior State Sat. (Oct. 29).
