ST. CLOUD, Minn. - Mike Lee recorded his first shutout of the
season and the third of his career to lead St. Cloud State to a 3-0
win over the Michigan Tech hockey team Friday (Jan. 7).
Jared Fester scored the first goal for St. Cloud with a low wrist
shot from the top of the circle. Nic Dowd and Taylor Johnson each
assisted on the goal at 10:32.
St. Cloud added two more goals in the second period. Ben Hanowski
scored his team-leading eighth goal of the season after redirecting
a shot by Garrett Roe. Drew LeBlanc recorded his team-leading 15
assist of the season on the power-play goal at 9:38. SCSU finished
one-for-two on the power play.
Roe tallied his second assist of the game after passing the puck
across the front of the net to Cam Reid who scored his sixth goal
of the season at 17:52. Dowd recorded his second assist of the
night on the goal.
Lee finished with 28 saves in his sixth win of the season for St.
Cloud, and Josh
Robinson ended the night with 40 saves for Tech.
Tech and St. Cloud will wrap-up the season series Saturday (Jan.
8).
