Box Score
COLUMBUS, Ohio - Michigan Tech gained a 3-0 victory at Ohio Dominican in GLIAC volleyball tonight. The Huskies fought off two set points in the opening frame before going on to sweep the Panthers and improve to 3-11 overall and 2-8 in the GLIAC.

Ohio Dominican led by scores of 24-23 and 25-24 in the opening set before the Huskies turned things around. Kasey Woodcock registered a kill. Abby DeWitt served an ace. Then Jena Karkos and Alicia Schneider combined for a block to give Tech the 27-25 win in set one.

The momentum carried over to the second set as the visitors won the first four points and built up an 8-1 advantage. The Huskies went on to win the set 25-17.

A five-point spurt midway through the third set led to a 25-15 score and the match victory.

"We made some big plays to pull out that close first set," said Orlando Gonzalez. "That gave us some confidence which carried over into sets two and three.

"The offense was really balanced tonight, and think that's going to be important for us to continue."

Four Huskies had at least eight kills in the match led by Woodcock, who had 13 to go with a .346 hitting percentage. Kristine Sexton added 11 kills while Alex Schwalbe and Schneider tallied eight apiece.

Setter Madeline Haben posted match highs of 35 assists and 19 digs. Schneider (14) and Tessa Mauer (12) were also in double figures in digs.

Michigan Tech will remain in Ohio for its next match-a 1 p.m. tilt at Tiffin tomorrow (Oct. 9).
