MADISON, Wis. - A pair of freshmen forwards who made key
contributions to their team's successes last weekend - Milos
Gordic of Michigan Technological University and Matt White of
the University of Nebraska Omaha - have been named Red Baron®
WCHA co-Rookies of the Week for Oct. 12.
Gordic, a 6-5, 210-pound right winger from Burnaby, B.C.,
scored two goals and set up another as the Huskies won twice on the
road in the Superior Showcase with a 4-3 (ot) triumph at Northern
Michigan on Oct. 8 and a 6-2 victory at Lake Superior State on Oct.
9. He had an assist in the win at NMU as Tech overcame a 2-0
deficit and scored two goals in the win at LSSU last Saturday.
White, a 5-10, 185-pounder right winger from Whittier, Calif.,
produced four scoring points, including two goals, in Nebraska
Omaha's two victories over Clarkson (8-0 last Friday) and RIT (5-3)
last Saturday. He had two goals an an assist vs Clarkson and one
assist vs RIT, fired nine shots on goal overall, and earned a +4
rating.
