WYSOCKY NOW EIGHTH IN POINTS, SECOND IN REBOUNDS
ALL-TIME AT TECH
Junior Katie Wysocky registered a career-high 27 points to
go with 11 rebounds last Saturday (Feb. 21) vs. Hillsdale. It was
the 12th double-double of the season for the 6-0 forward, who
averages team highs of 15.0 points and 9.8 rebounds. Wysocky has
run her career totals to 1,199 points and 734 rebounds. She's tied
for eighth all-time on the points list and is second on the
rebounding chart. The school record in each category is 1,856 and
866, respectively.
STREAM MOVES PAST THE 1,000 POINT MARK
Junior Sarah Stream recorded her 1,000th point this past
Saturday (Feb. 21) against No. 5 Hillsdale. The 5-7 junior recorded
a career-high 24 points in the game, which advanced her all-time
point total to 1,023. Stream is the second Tech player this season
to reach the 1,000-point plateau as Katie Wysocky did it back on
Jan. 10 vs. Tiffin.
ZIMMERMAN THE NATIONAL LEADER IN 3-POINT PERCENTAGE!
Junior Katie Zimmerman leads all of NCAA Division II in
3-point field goal percentage at 50.0. The 5-6 guard is 75-of-150
from behind the arc this season. She averages 3.0 3-point makes per
game, which is 15th in the country. Zimmerman already owns Michigan
Tech school records for 3-pointers in a game (six), season (78) and
career (188). She will look to reset the season record this weekend
by adding to her 75.

NATIONAL RANKING FALLS TO 20
After a heartbreaking loss to No. 5 Hillsdale last
Saturday, Michigan Tech saw its national ranking fall from 16 to
20. The Huskies have been in the top 25 all season long. With a
loss earlier in the week to Northern Michigan, Hillsdale also fell
from No. 5 to No. 8. See page 2 for the complete WBCA poll.
DANEN ONE AWAY FROM BLOCKS RECORD
Junior Danae Danen has a team-high 48 blocked shots on the
season just one shy of Carie Pejka's 1990-91 record of 49.
Danen's average of 1.9 blocks per game ranks third in the GLIAC.
The 6-0 center tallied 45 blocks last year and presently has 117 in
her career. Tech's record for career blocks is 148, also held by
Pejka.
HUSKIES ACCOMPLISH PROGRAM'S 13TH 20-WIN SEASON
Michigan Tech, with its win over Findlay last Thursday
(Feb. 19), reached the 20-win plateau for the 13th time in the
women's basketball program's history. It is the second straight
20-win campaign for the Huskies as they turned in a 23-8 record a
year ago. The school record for wins in a season is 30, set in
1992-93. All 13 20-win seasons have come in the last 19 years
(since 1990-91). Tech is currently on a 20-year streak of winning
seasons since 1988-89, with a 444-167 (72.7 pct).
SERIES HISTORY
Michigan Tech trails in the all-time series with Lake
Superior State. Tech is 36-39 all-time vs. Lake Superior State
after beating the Lakers 74-56 one month ago in Houghton (Jan. 24).
The Huskies are 34-31 vs. Saginaw Valley State after having won the
last three straight matchups including a 91-43 decision over the
Cardinals in Houghton Jan. 22. See page 4 for complete series

HEAD COACH JOHN BARNES
Sixth-year Michigan Tech head coach John Barnes owns a
117-49 (.705) career record. Barnes led the 2007-08 Huskies to
their first GLIAC North Division title and GLIAC Tourney title
since 2001. He was named GLIAC Coach of the Year in 2005-06.
